AC Milan are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere and are set to move for the England international during next year's summer transfer window, according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport.
The 24-year-old had been linked with a move to the San Siro during the latter stages of the summer transfer window, but the Rossoneri were beaten to his signature, along with Roma, by Bournemouth, who signed the midfielder on a season-long loan deal.
But it is understood the Italian giants remain interested and have earmarked a move during next summer's transfer window.
Milan, who are also rumoured to be interested in Chelsea's Cesc Fabregas and Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez , have been boosted in their hopes of signing Wilshere after the 24-year-old admitted he may need to leave Arsenal on a permanent deal.
The London-born ace has seemingly overcome his persistent injury troubles and has become a permanent fixture in Eddie Howe's Bournemouth starting eleven.
But the 24-year-old, who will have a year remaining on his contract when he returns to the Emirates, believes a time may come when he may need to leave north London.
"Of course I love Arsenal, but if there comes a time when I have to leave, then I have to leave," he told The Sun.
"It is difficult for me to say because of course I love Arsenal - I've had great times there and they have been great for me.
"And I can still see myself playing there as well but who knows what the future holds.
"I have got a year left when I go back there," he added. "At the moment I'm just trying to have a season that puts me in a good position at the end of the year.
"I have improved as a player and Arsenal want me back and then we will see where we go from there."
