"?Adriano Galliani, the vice president and CEO of AC Milan, was quoted speaking about a number of players, ahead of what looks to be a busy summer for the Serie A club.

Speaking to "?Goal.com, the 71-year-old, was asked over the possibility of Karim Benzema arriving to the San Siro, with the French striker's future at Real Madrid in doubt, despite the Champions League win.

Galliani said, "We never talked about Benzema with Real Madrid or his entourage. He's very much admired by the coaches, directors and president of Real Madrid, so we never thought of reaching him."

With Benzema reportedly ruled out, it is another Real Madrid asset that has been linked with a move to the Rossoneri, former Inter Milan star Mateo Kovacic.

When asked about the Croatian, Galliani responded "Kovacic? We'll see."

Another superstar that has bee mentioned with a return to the city is out-of-contract Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who starred for both Milan sides, and is fondly remembered by the red and black half for bringing the 2011 Scudetto back to the Rossoneri.

Galliani revealed the extent of the speculation with regards for the Swedish striker, through his dealings with the PSG star's agent, Mino Raiola. "I always have meetings with Raiola "? we have a good rapport and he represents four or five Milan players. The problem is not meeting Raiola, but paying Ibrahimovic."

Milan ended the season in 7th place, confirming yet another campaign without European football next season. It is unknown whether new manager Cristian Brocchi, who replaced Sinisa Mihajlovic in April, will be given the chance to stay on as boss, but a squad overhaul is expected nonetheless.

One player who will not be playing in the red and black of AC next season is Mario Balotelli, with the Italian returning to Liverpool after his unsuccessful loan spell back at the San Siro.
