Manchester United have reportedly brought in super agent Jorge Mendes to negotiate the £27.5m deal to bring FC Basel forward Breel Embolo to Old Trafford this summer, according to Italian publication GianlucaDiMarzio.com.

The 19-year-old is currently on international duty with Switzerland at Euro 2016 following an impressive season for Basel in the Swiss League where the forward scored 13 league goals.

His impressive form in front have goal has alerted a number of top European clubs but it now appears that United have moved ahead to the front of the queue and their intention to sign the youngster has been made clear with reports of super-agent Jorge Mendes being employed by United to conduct the deal.

Mendes, who is the agent of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, is thought to not be directly involved in the deal but will aid United in completing the potential deal.

It is understood United will table an offer of £4m annually for Embolo should they reach a deal with Basel.

Mourinho has already completed his first signing as United manager after the £30m deal to bring defender Eric Bailly from La Liga outfit Villarreal was completed earlier this month.

But the potential free signing of Swedish superstar attacker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been the story on everybody's lips and while the deal has yet been to officially confirmed, it is widely expected the former Inter star will sign in the coming weeks.
