FC Ifeanyi Ubah right back, Chibuzor Okonkwo has said the newcomers, Ikorodu United are coming to Nnewi for mere sightseeing.

The Nnewi outfit will host newly promoted side in Sunday’s Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 6 clash at the Gabros International Stadium in Nnewi.

Okonkwo said his side will accord the visitors due respect on and off the pitch but that they will be turned back empty-handed.

“Ikorodu United are new comers to the NPFL but does not make the side anything cheap or lesser team.

“For Ikorodu United to ply their trade in the top flight means they have some stuff that should be respected.

“We will not underrate them but accord the side due respect on and off the pitch as top flight side.

“However, the three points at stake is our top priority and we cannot compromise on it no matter the challenge.

“Ikorodu United can attempt to ruffle feathers in the encounter we will certainly turn them back empty-handed.

“They can afford to come and admire the beautiful city of Nnewi but will not pick a point from the clash.

“We missed narrowly the three points at Sunshine Stars at the weekend that would have pushed us to the summit the clash against Ikorodu United looks like it another chance to challenge for the top,” said the Super Eagles strongman to supersport.com.

FC IfeanyiUbah have raked in seven points from possible 15 in the five-week old Nigerian top flight though with a game to spare against Nasarawa United.
