Nigerian forward, Ifeoma Onumonu has announced her retirement from professional football at the age of 31, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Onumonu shared the news on Instagram, expressing gratitude for her journey and describing her retirement as a "natural conclusion of discovery" to a lifelong passion that began when she was just eight years old.
Playing in NWSL Championship, Onumonu won the National Women's Soccer League championship trophy with NJ/NY Gotham FC
She also features for thr Nigeria's Super Falcons at the Olympics and FIFA Women's World Cup.
Onumonu was part of the team that represented Nigeria and achieved the record-extending 10th African Cup of Nations title in July 2025
Her retirement marks the end of an era for Nigerian women's football, with the striker leaving behind a legacy defined by dedication, humility, and excellence on and off the field.
