Asamoah Gyan cleared out his locker at Al Ain filled with tears as he said his final goodbye to the club on Tuesday evening.

The Ghana captain will be headed to China at sunrise to undergo a medical before signing a contract with Chinese big-spender Shanghai SIPG.

Gyan after a meeting with members of the club’s board, descended into the team’s dressing room where he took his personal belongings from his customized locker.

The highly emotional Black Stars captain had his eye filled with tears as he went about packing up his stuff.

He later braved the emotions, wiped his face clean and sat through a brief press conference where he thanked the Al Ain fans for their unwavering support in his entire four-year stay at the club.

Al Ain have accepted a transfer fee in the region of EUR20m for the striker to sign for Shanghai SIPG.

Gyan will see his weekly earnings rise to over a staggering $300,000 when his move to the Chinese Super League side is complete.
