Former Nigeria-Togolese striker, Emmanuel Adebayor believes Victor Osimhen is has the right mentality to play in England and replace former Chelsea star, Didier Drogba, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
While Osimhen recently extend his contract to 2026, the Napoli striker is still on the radial of top clubs in Europe. Chelsea being one of the leading teams.
With a €120 million (£103m) release clause inserted in his new contract, the tall finisher is widely expected to move in the summer.
“He has the right attitude, mentality and determination to excel there [in England],” Adebayor told BBC Sport Africa.
“I’m praying for him to move to the Premier League and show what he’s capable of. The Premier League is the toughest and best [league] in the world.
“Osimhen has shown and done it already in Italy, I think it is the right time for him to move to England and replace his idol Drogba and do beautiful things. He has all it takes to make a name and write a great chapter in England like Drogba.”
Osimhen was important to Napoli’s successful Serie A triumphant story last season , scoring 31 goals in 39 matches across all competitions.
