Harrison Jala says election can only be feasible if amendment is made to NFF statutes

Published on: 20 August 2022

In no time it will be September and elective offices into the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will be held.

While the date of September 30th has been approved by at the Annual General Meeting with the election in slated for Edo State, PFAN has a condition for that date to stand.

Former international, Harrison Jala has stated that some statutea of the NFF has to be changed for election to be ppssible.

"The position of the PFAN Task Force remains that the September 30th 2022 election is only feasible if amendments are made to relevant sections of the NFF Statute to accommodate Equal and Fair Representation in the composition of the Executive Board, Congress and Sub/Standing Committees of the NFF.

"No serious football playing nation would leave the future of its football in the hands of these current set of grossly incompetent States F.A Chairmen, not with the Trauma, Agony, Disgrace, and Emotional Torture Nigerians went through in the last eight years.

"It would be another inglorious and disastrous journey if the current structure of 37 States F.A Chairmen reproduce themselves as a new NFF Executive Board.

"The footballers bloc dully represented by the PFAN Task Force will never allow that to happen. There is no rocket science in the amendments that can be done in one sitting. The time to rebuild our football is now." Jala said.

It is yet to be seen if the call will be heard as the election date draws near.
