Golden Eaglets coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, has boasted that his team has what it takes to stop the Brazilian team in the quarter final of the ongoing Chile 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Nigeria will meet Brazil on Sunday in what football pundits have described as the ‘Clash of the Titans’ judging from the pedigree of the two countries in world football particularly at the cadet level.

The Eaglets met Brazil in a pre-World Cup tournament tagged Suwon Invitational Four-Nation Championship in South Korea where Nigerian lads beat Brazil 2-1 in one of the matches, and Coach Amuneke is now boasting that his boys are battle ready to shock the Brazilians once again as they did in Suwon.

“My boys are in high spirit to take on Brazil on Sunday. We met them in Suwon and we beat them 2-1. We are aware that this is a World Cup situation, we will come up with a good plan to play Brazil. We are candidates to win the title, but so are Brazil. We will work to put up a good fight,. We’ll continue to work and believe in ourselves and through hardwork and commitment, we will get there, ” he said.

Amuneke warned his players not to be carried away by the victories recorded so far in Chile, adding that they have not gotten to the desired destination until the ultimate trophy is won.

“We are not there yet, the road to the final is still far. I want to assure that we will give good account of our work against Brazil on Sunday, ” said the coach.

Amuneke hailed the support his team are receiving from football fans in the country and like Oliver Twist, he is asking for more as the World Cup is getting tougher.

“I’m grateful to Nigerians for giving me the opportunity to serve. They should continue to believe in us. We’re together in this and we’ll work collectively to win the World Cup again,” he said.
