Ghana Under-20 coach Sellas Tetteh praised his players for their effort in their 2-0 win over South Africa at the ongoing Africa Youth Championship in Senegal.

The Ghanaians took the lead in the 8th minute when Aubrey Modiba pushed the ball past his own keeper following pressure from Ghana’s Prosper Kassim.

Ghana then made it 2-0 a minute before half-time through Benjamin Tetteh after the otherwise reliable Msibi was lobbed after rushing of his area.

South Africa were forced to play almost the entire second half with 10 men after defender Aubrey Modiba was shown the second yellow card and the red card for two reckless challenges.

Coach Sellas Tetteh hailed the effort of his team and remains confident they will go far in the competition.

We wasted a lot of chances. Whenever a team is down by a man, they appear motivated and work very hard. After the red card, we were not effective,” he told cafonline.com

Despite being a man down the South Africans gave us a good game and that is the hallmark of a good team.”

The Black Satellites will next play Zambia in their next group game on Thursday.

RSA would have won that match had it not been for the bais officiating. How could this over aged baboons beat RSA?

is this buffoon still alive after ZAMBIA bowing out of Afcon and their U20 beaten by Mali? West Africans punish the South wherever & whenever we meet them. Any way, Paradox has learnt some sense from ROK & Positive Thinking. Hope Mumbi will learn from Paradox.

these Zambians always have an excuse except when they win a FLUKE Afcon. World Cup is not in their bones & sadly they are not doing well in Afcon after that fluke.

Thank you Mumbi for calling your fellow African brothers baboons in the name of regional bias because I believe you are a Zambian feeling for South Africa. Thank God your country will meet those baboons on Thursday. You are already on your way home from the tournament. Remember, West Africa is the home of African soccer, from the U-17 to the senior most level.

Nigeria is waiting for Ghana in d final. Even without 7of Nigeria's key players in d tournament they will still beat Ghana just as they did to d 29 year old Senegalese papa. I'll never forgive Ghana for injuring our best dribbler musa yahaya in d friendly games . they should try to repent from dia physical approach to soccer
