AshantiGold regained top spot after a topsy-turvy 2-1 win over Bechem United at the Len Clay on Wednesday afternoon.

The Miners needed a 40th minute penalty which was expertly converted by Mumuni Shafiu to open the scoring

Few minutes after the break, Bechem United equalized from the spot courtesy Noah Martey.

Referee Issaka Afful pointed to the spot after Burkinabe Henri Traore handled the ball inside the box.

But AshGold reigned supreme and Bernard Morrison snatched the winner for Bashiru Hayford’s side.

The Obuasi-based side have opened a two-point lead at the top.
