Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah is set to miss the start of the Italian serie A season after feeling discomfort in his knee despite undergo going the knife eight months ago.

The 25-year-old suffered a career threatening injury and underwent a surgery in November last year to correct a cartilage in his left knee.

The injury kept him out of the last three months of the season where his team Juventus wrapped up a historic double in the Serie A.

Asamoah also missed out on Ghana’s campaign for the Africa cup of nations held in Equatorial Guinea where the Black Stars finished second.

The former Udinese man started pre-season ten days ahead of schedule in a bid to revive his career but has been dealt a massive blow as the pain in the knee won’t just go away.

He is now set to travel to Barcelona today to undergo further test to ascertain the true cause of the recurrent pain.

Asamoah has 66 caps for the Black Stars and was a member of the team which failed to make the knock out stages of the world cup in Brazil.
