Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom returns to Ghana after failing to secure contract

Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has returned to Ghana after failing to secure a move during the winter transfer window, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The 25-year-old has failed to secure a club in the States despite their transfer window having some days to close.

He had his reported move to Houston Dynamo hit the snag. GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm the former FC Basel full-back arrived in Ghana last week from the United States of America and is due to spend some time in Ghana before returning abroad.

Inkoom was close to a move to Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo eight weeks ago but GHANAsoccernet.com broke the news the deal had crashed.

The defender, who has had spell in Greece, Ukraine and France, denied the story, insisting the deal was on course.

With the Dynamo move failing to materialise, Inkoom has spent weeks in the United States, trying to resolve the situation.

This means Inkoom will be inactive for the next three months as all European transfer windows have shut.

Why doesn't he go back to FC Basel? I think he'll fit in very well in that team. Some players are made for some teams. And Sammy actually is made for FC Basel and that explains why he was doing so well in team and has never been himself ever since he left to Dnipro and all the other teams he has tried to play in. He has even lost his place in the national team as a result of all these silly transfers. Not good for a young footballer of his calibre.
