The interim head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles, Finidi George, expressed his determination to secure victory against Mali in their upcoming friendly, despite facing challenges due to player absences and injuries, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Last Friday, in his inaugural match in charge, the former Ajax winger led Nigeria to a 2-1 triumph over rivals Ghana in another friendly encounter.

However, Finidi must navigate the absence of key players like Calvin Bassey and midfielder Frank Onyeka due to injuries.

Nevertheless, the coach remains optimistic about their chances against Mali on Tuesday night, stating, "We cannot at this time be dwelling on the injuries and absences that we have to cope with."

"Our intention has always been to win these two matches and then look forward to the World Cup qualifiers in June. We are determined to keep up the momentum and sustain the winning mentality derived from beating the Black Stars," he emphasized in an interview with nff.com.

Mali although are unbeaten in their last four away games, Nigeria however, have won the last two encounters against the Eagles
