Falconets trio, Akudo get late call for Japan's friendly

Coach Randy Waldrum has invited four more players to the Super Flacons team to play the international friendly against Japan.

 

Amongst the additions are three players who played at the U-20 women's world cup in Costa Rica and one senior player.

 

Savid News revealed that Bayelsa forward Flourish Sabastine, Edo Queens defender Jumoke Alani and Robo Queens winger Esther Onyenezide as well as Rivers Angels defender Esther Ogbonna Akudo have all beeen called for the Super Falcons friendly against Japan.

 

The encounter which will take place in Kobe on Thursday, October 6, 2022 will see the most decorated team in Africa go against two-time world cup winners, Japan.

 

The trio of Sabastine, Onyenezide and Alani who part of s the Falconets at the U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica increase the number of Falconets billed for the trip to Japan to six, joining goalkeeper Nkiruka Obidinma, defenders Oluwatosin Demehin, Rofiat Imuran and midfielder Deborah Abiodun.

 

The Nigeria delegation departed Abuja on Saturday afternoon, with six players, namely Rivers Angels duo of Abiodun and Akudo, Edo Queens duo of Obidinma and Alani plus Onyenezie and Sabastine.

 

Other players from abroad are expected to join the team from Monday.
