EX NWPL star score brace in Denmark

Fortuna Hjorring of Denmark and Super Falcons of Nigeria, Joy Owena scored a brace to give her side a 3-0 Won Over FC Thy-Thisted In The Danish Women Elitedivisionenen.

 

Owena came in as a substitute to score twice to cement her side's win which lifted them to the third position on the log.

Signe Hansen Baatrup had scored the first goal for Fortuna Hjorring who where playing away from home before the Coach brought in Owena in the 70th minute.

 

The former Confluence Queen player was elated to score a brace for her side and said she had been longing to score.

 

“It was a great victory for us and I am happy that I scored. I have been longing to score two goals and happy that I scored them,” Omewa said.

 

She admitted she did not imagine she will score from the bench.

 

“It was a great victory for us today and I am happy that I scored. I want to thank my teammates for their support and gratitude,” she continued.

 

“The first goal, the defender made a mistake and I got the ball. My teammate gave me the pass and I put it into the net to score the second goal. It’s so good and going to be a good ride home. We are happy for the victory.”

 

The brace were Omewa’s first goals of the season for Fortuna Hjorring.

 

Omewa will be hoping to continue with her fine form when Fortuna Hjorring will next face Kolding on October 30
