Everton are closing in on a £40 million move for Watford star Richarlison, sources have told ESPN FC.

The two clubs are in advanced talks over a deal for the Brazilian, who has flown back from Watford's preseason tour of Austria for talks and a medical.

New Everton boss Marco Silva is a big fan of Richarlison, having signed him while he was in charge of Watford last season, and he is keen to be reunited with him at Goodison Park.

Richarlison caught the eye at the start of last season following his arrival from Fluminese last summer, scoring five goals in his first 13 appearances.

The 21-year-old's form tailed off in the second half of the season, but he kept his place in the Watford side.

If Richarlison comes through his medical he is set to become the club's first signing of preseason.
