EPL: Awoniyi provides assist as Forest earn crucial win

Nigeria forward, Taiwo Awoniyi was instrumental for Nottingham Forest in their English Premier League match day 35 clash against as they picked up  pick up an important victory in their fight against relegation, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Super Eagles striker was one of the contributors to one of the goals scored by Forest in their  3-1 comeback win over Brighton at the City Ground on Wednesday.

Brighton were in front in the 38 minute after Facundo Buonanotte's tap-in from Brennan Johnson's early penalty that had been saved by Jason Steele.

However, Gross had turned Renan Lodi's cross-shot into his own net to level score for the Reds at extra time of dirt half as they ended the half with renewed spirit to do better in the second half.

A chance to consolidate victory came in the 89 minute when Lewis Dunk handed the ball at the box as Morgan Gibbs-White stayed calmly to send the goalkeeper the wrong way to make it 3-1.

The score line became a result at the end of proceedings as Nottingham Forest move out of the drop zone to 17 with 30 points after 33 matches.

Meanwhile, Awoniyi saw 80 minutes of action as he was replaced by Ayew while his compatriot, Emmanuel Dennis remained on the bench in the entire duration of the game.
