The “Nigeria Football Federation” led by Chris Giwa has appointed late Wale Akinsanya as the referee for the match between Warri Wolves and Giwa FC holding in Warri. The game is billed for this Sunday.

But records show that the same Akinsanya died on January 22, 2016 during a FIFA Cooper Test in Ibadan.

The letter sent from the “NFF” to the Chief Operation Officer of the League Management Company on Wednesday  was signed by Adama Yahaya.

he letter dated April 20, 2016 read, “Please find attached the list of officiating officials that included (sic) the referee and match commissioners for your urgent and necessary action.

“Thanks for the usual cooperation.”

The attached list that has many other officials then listed Akinsanya for the game on the 26th. The however did not explain how Akinsanya would be contacted for the work at hand.

The group led by Giwa has continued to lay claim to the NFF which the letter to the LMC has indicated. The LMC on Tuesday banished Giwa FC to Ilorin for their home games after their fans disrupted their match against Rangers in Jos last Sunday.
