Croatia Set To Rest Modric, Rakitic, Mandzukic, Others For Iceland Clash

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic is set to rest up to eight players for their Russia 2018 World Cup final Group D game with Iceland, according to report in The Mirror.

Dalic’s side are already through to the next round and are expected to rest Ivan Rakitic, Mario Mandzukic, Luka Modric, Dejan Lovren and Ante Rabic and other players at risk of suspension for the knock-out stage.

“I’d like to top the group, but we have to take care because we have some players on yellow cards, so I will change the line-up,” said Dalic during his pre-match press conference.

“I will not start those who are on yellow cards because it’s too much of a risk, there are 22 players who can play. I have a good squad otherwise they wouldn’t be here and they all deserve to play.”

Croatia have six points from two games after wins over Nigeria and Argentina.
