2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL's) top scorer Chijioke Akuneto has received his Golden Boot Award.
The striker who achieved the feat while playing for champions Rivers United received the award from sponsors Eunisell.
Akuneto scored 19 goals for Rivers United last season to claim the award. He assisted four plus assists with 1 hattrick, 5 braces in 38 appearances.
He also receives 3.8 million naira as reward valued at 200,000 naira per goal.
Akuneto, who scored his first goal for Super Eagles against Ghana in the CHAN qualify becomes the 7th player to win the award instituted by Eunisell.
Previous winners were Junior Lokosa, Ibrahim Sanusi/Mfon Udoh, Charles Atshimene/ Silas Nwankwo.
