Taiwo Awoniyi, a former Liverpool striker, scored his fourth goal in three games to earn Union Berlin a point in their 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim.

With a magnificent shot early in the second half, the 24-year-old, who joined permanently from Merseyside this summer after spending last season on loan in Berlin, equalized.

With Union down 2-1, he rescued a point two minutes into the second half by volleying home his second shot after his first was parried.

It concluded a fantastic week for the Nigerian, who scored twice and assisted on a third goal in a 4-0 thrashing of Finnish club Kuopion Palloseura in a Europa Conference League first-leg qualifier on Thursday.

Awoniyi also scored the first goal in the 1-1 league tie against Bayer Leverkusen at home on Saturday.
