Borussia Monchengladbach is calculating the cost of their 4-0 Bundesliga loss to Bayer Leverkusen, with defender Stefan Lainer breaking his leg leading a long injury list.
As French strikers Marcus Thuram and Alassane Plea were both hurt in Saturday's away setback, Gladbach sports director Max Eberl complained, "There are days when you would rather have stayed at home."
Gladbach announced that left-back Lainer would be sidelined "indefinitely." Thuram and Plea could also be out long-term as the club await their diagnoses.
