King Faisal have served the Ghana FA with a fresh writ preventing the start of the 2014/15 First Capital Plus League but the GFA insists the competition will start this weekend as scheduled.

A Ghana FA statement released on Friday afternoon read: "The Ghana Football Association (GFA) wishes to inform all Premier League Clubs, match-day officials and the general public to disregard reports in sections of the media that the 2014/2015 First Capital Plus Premier League will not kick off on Saturday January 17, 2015 as planned."

This statement follows fast circulating reports that King Faisal has slapped the association with a fresh injunction to prevent the start of the Ghanaian top flight.

The Ghana FA had secured permission to hold its annual Congress - a pre-requisite for the start of the football season from the court pending the final determination of the case instigated by relegated King Faisal.

The initial injunction placed on the GFA from holding its Congress was thus lifted on condition the association presents an undertaken it will restore King Faisal back to the Ghanaian top flight if it is successful in its case.

But with the Ghanaian top flight set to kickoff on Saturday after a three-month delay, reports claim King Faisal have served the GFA with a writ preventing the commencement of the league.

The GFA however insists and have instructed all participating clubs and officials to observe Match Day 1 fixtures as scheduled.

Friends and other lovers of football, do we not think this litigation is a consequence of the corruption within the GFA? Until the Brazil 2014 fiasco, nobody ever thought there were a lot of bones in the GFA's wardrobe. Someone within the GFA might have engaged in a corrupt act which Alhaji Grunsah might have known hence his continuous fight. If he new his club were relegated genuinely, that is based on their performance, he would not take the matter to court. Has King Faisal not been relegated before? Has Alhaji Grunsah behaved this way before? There is something which is not being exposed. The GFA might be trying to muzzle King Faisal which the owner is not trying to accept.
