Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro has announced his departure as the head coach of the Super Eagles, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Peseiro’s contract expired after the African Cup of Nations last month and the Nigeria Football Federation have been trying to engage the tactician in a renewal.
However, the Portuguese seems to have his mind made up.

The confirmation came through a succinct statement posted on the social media platform X on Friday. Peseiro expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "It was a pride and honor to coach the Super Eagles."
The announcement marked the conclusion of a 22-month tenure filled with dedication, sacrifice, and enthusiasm.
Peseiro delivered Nigeria a silver medal at the just concluded AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.
