On-loan Christian Atsu was excluded from the Bournemouth squad which travelled to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City on Saturday.
The Ghana winger had excelled in the Cherries’ 3-2 penalty shootout victory over Preston North End in the League Cup on Tuesday.
He played 81 minutes before being replaced Lee Tomlin.
Atsu is having a nightmarish campaign at Bournemouth after joining them on a season-long loan move from Chelsea.
He is yet to make his league debut for the Eddie Howe’s side.
