Wikki NPFL tittle hopes possible

Wikki Tourists midfielder Harrison Madu said the win against Rivers United has once again thrown the side into contention for the league title.

The Bauchi outfit pipped the Pride of Rivers 1-0 in a top-flight matchday 36 clash at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) in Bauchi.

Madu said victories in the remaining two matches on the calendar will guarantee the side the top prize or second finish on the league log.

“The win against Rivers United has brought us back into strong reckoning to fight for the league crown.

“What remains to be done is for us to prepare adequately for the remaining two matches on the calendar to ensure we garner maximum points.

“Six points will guarantee us a strong stake to claim the league crown or worst case scenario a second or third finish on the log.

“None of the possibilities will be considered a bad performance as we are certain to secure one of the tickets to the African scene.

“The away clash against 3SC is certain to be the toughest given the side not too comfortable position on the log.

“Although we will fight for the whole three points at stake which will put us on strong footing for the title a point in the clash will not be totally a bad result.

“We are damn ready to put up our very best in the two matches to ensure we do not miss the whole goodies in the on-going top-flight,” said Madu to supersport.com.

Wikki Tourists are third on the Nigerian top-flight log on 54 points three behind league leaders, Enugu Rangers.
