Austria have taken a step to claim two players of Ghanaian heritage to play for their senior national team after using the pair in an Euro U17 qualifying win over Iceland on Saturday.

Midfielder Kevin Danso who plays for Augsburg FC's U17 side in Germany played until the 53rd minute while SK Rapid Wien midfielder Samuel Oppong, 16, also came off the bench in the 63rd minute to play for Manfred Zsak side who managed a slim victory.

Both players were born to Ghanaian parents in Austria and the European country have taken advantage of their massive talent by capping them at youth levels as the pair graduated through their U15 grades.

Danso could have scored in the 65th minute to double the lead for the host had he taken his chance but he fluffed his lines.
