"I am very happy and proud to be here on behalf of Olympikos. There are still some typical details to be completed, such as medical tests. Once they are completed, I can celebrate my transfer to Olympiakos," Cissokho said on Sunday before the deal was confirmed - via "?Sky Sports.

The Frenchman currently has 18 months remaining on his deal with the Championship club.

He started the season as the club's first choice left-back under Roberto Di Matteo, but Steve Bruce has preferred Jordan Amavi since his arrival.

Cissokho is the third player moved on by Bruce this month, along with striker Rudy Gestede and keeper Pierluigi Gollini.

His move to Olympiakos is with a view to a potential permanent transfer in the summer.

Last season Cissokho, who has earned one French cap, was on loan at Portuguese giants Porto where he played just twice.
