Ghana winger Andre Ayew surpassed his iconic father’s five goal haul at the Africa Cup of Nations tournament after scoring in his country’s 3-0 semi-final win over host Equatorial Guinea on Thursday.

The Marseille took his tally to six after slotting home the third goal at the Estadio de Malabo.

The 25-year-old is now his country’s third top scorer of all-time, just a goal shy behind legendary Osei Kofi and captain Asamoah Gyan.

The second son of legendary Abedi Pele made his debut in 2008 but started his goal scoring prowess two years on in Angola in 2010.

He is one of the top five scorers at the ongoing tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Ghanasoccernet that's wrong info as ayew cannot be third on his own as Mubarak Wakaso also has 6 goals he scored 5 goals in 2013 and has scored one in this tourney.
