Real Madrid gaffer, Carlo Ancelotti has disclosed why the club opted not to sign Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
Last summer, the European champions were heavily linked with the Nigeria international but opted for Jude Bellingham, believing the Sun 19 year-old’s arrival could offset the loss of Karim Benzema.
While Real Madrid are doing great without the 24 year-old, Napoli who with his incomparable contribution win the Scudetto in the 2022/24 season are have extended his contract by two years.
Ancelotti revealed in an interview with Radio Serie A that the club prioritized Bellingham's signing to compensate for Benzema's departure to Al Ittihad, stating, "No (we didn't sign Osimhen) because I think the club thought that Benzema's absence could be remedied by purchasing Bellingham."
