Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses gear up for England friendly as head coach Gernot Rohr and ground staff test waterlogged Wembley pitch

Nigeria kicked off preparations for their friendly against England with a splash as the Wembley ground staff deemed the drenched pitch usable for their training session.

After some ball-bounce tests and further examination, Alex Iwobi and Co were given the green light to proceed in the empty 90,000-seater stadium

Chelsea full back Victor Moses was present for the session after returning from his second honeymoon following the Blues' triumph in the FA Cup final.

Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr told KweséESPN that the winger had asked for an extended break to spend time with his wife.

'After the FA Cup Final, he told me it was the first anniversary of his wedding and if I could give him two days to celebrate,' the German coach began. 'I said no problem.'

While the national's team's World Cup kit broke headlines off the pitch on Friday after it sold out within minutes in Oxford Street, it was nowhere to be seen at Wembley.

The kit has been a huge hit with fans for its retro look and received more than three million pre-orders according to the Nigerian Football Federation before it finally went on sale.

Nigeria will debut the in-demand kit in Saturday's friendly as they continue to prepare for the World Cup.

London is home to thousands of Nigerian ex-pats and people with Nigerian heritage, meaning the kit had no shorter of takes at Nike's central London HQ.
