African Games '23: Falconets start title charge on a high

Nigeria U-20 Women's national team recorded a win at the start of the African Games football competition after a win over Morocco on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Two goals from Chioma Olise and Yina Adoo secured a 2-0 win to start their gold medal defense impressively at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Falcons gained an early lead after 20 minutes of play through in what seemed an own goal by young Morocco goalkeeper Fatima Bambara.

Adoo doubled the lead 5 minutes prior to the end of the half to give the Nigerian team a comfortable lead at half time.

The defending champions could not score more, but remained strong to keep a clean sheet and win their first game in group B.

They play Senegal next and a win will secure their place in the semi final of the games.
