Ex Roma star Ricardo Faty, says africa no longer have team that produce stars like Jay Jay Okocha and Diouf, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Ricardo Faty via his official Twitter handle before Ghana clash with Portugal expresses dissatisfaction over the type of players that represent African countries. He argued that teams from Africa no longer produce Superstars

“While waiting for the Ghana match: generally disappointed with the African teams on this 1st day.

“We are far from those teams that we have known in the past (Nigeria 94-98, Senegal 02 or even Ghana 10) which brought ‘madness’ with exciting players like Jay Jay (Okocha) or Diouf.

“The selections have certainly acquired a good tactical knowledge, due to the many players playing in the biggest clubs. But on the other hand, you lose spontaneity, dribbling… it must be said, it’s not great to see ‘our’ matches.”

It was a rather disappointing start for African teams in Qatar as they all failed to pick the maximum points from the first round of matches played between Sunday and Thursday with only The Black Stars of Ghana able to find the back of the net as others failed to.

Although Senegal broke the yoke on Friday afternoon after they defeated host Qatar 3-1 to revive their second round hope, it doesn't look like the semifinal jinx will be broken this year.
