Afcon Update: Nigeria Reveals Official Squad Numbers for 2023 Africa Cup of Nations

In a decisive move, Nigeria unveils the squad numbers for its 25-man roster for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The iconic jersey number 10 will be worn by Southampton midfielder, Joe Aribo while the 2023 African football of the Year, Victor Osimhen will be on the no9 shirt, aligning with widespread expectations.

While Kelechi Iheanacho still remain with the medics due to musical problems, the Leicester city forward has coveted the no 14 with goalkeeper Francis Uzoho takes the no1 shirt suggesting hm as the first choice.

Alhassan Yusuf has the No.4 frequently coveted his substitute, Wilfred Ndidi, while Samuel Chukwueze has the No.11, Ademola Lookman No.18 and Victor Boniface No.24.

AFCON 2023 is scheduled for January 13 to February 11 in Cote d’Ivoire, with Nigeria in Group A with Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea and hosts Cote d’Ivoire.
