AFCON 2023: Osimhen claims Nigeria is battle-ready for Côte d’Ivoire

Nigeria's star-striker, Victor Osimhen, has laid bare the strategic objectives for the Super Eagles as they gear up to face Ivory Coast in a crucial clash at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathers.

Osimhen emphasized that the Super Eagles are focused on enhancing their goal-scoring efficiency and capitalizing on opportunities against Ivory Coast, following a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea in their Group A opener.

Meanwhile, Ivory Coast enters the encounter with a convincing 2-0 victory over Guinea-Bissau.

Speaking to CAF's official website, Osimhen acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating, "We told ourselves after our draw against Equatorial Guinea that the game against Côte D’Ivoire will not be easy because the fans will rally behind their team."

He added, "Côte d’Ivoire has excellent players. Our objective will be to be more efficient in front of goal, not to miss the opportunities we create."
