AFCON 2023: Iwobi attests to Super Eagles’ under performance but akes solace in win and clean-sheet

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi will take the win and the clean sheet the team had in the last group game against Guniea Bissau rather than duel on the get his side failed to do right, Nigeriasoccernet.com report.

Nigeria on Monday evening secured a place in the Round 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations  following a 1-0 victory against the Djurtus of Guinea-Bissau but played below  the quality the team possessed .

Iwobi who was introduced in the second of the encounter acknowledged their play but believed things could have been direct if they had taken their chances.

“Some will say that, if we had scored our chances, it would have been great game.” Iwobi told Nigeriasoccernet.com

“We create chances at the at the end of day we still kept a clean sheet so people can still cry, we know ourselves, it’s another game,  sheet, 1-0 anf another win, we just keep it like that.”

Nigeria finished second from Group A with seven points, scoring three goals and conceding ones against the Group winners, Equitorial Guinea.
