AFCON 2023: CAF TSG release group stage best eleven as Super Eagles players' out

The totalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d'Ivoire 2023 Technical Study Group (TSG) has formally announced the top XI performers from the competition's group rounds with no single inclusion of Super Eagles of Nigeria player despite making it past the group stage, Nigeriasoccernet.com can confirm.

Jesus Owono, the goalkeeper for Equatorial Guinea, was the standout performer throughout the group stage.

Lamine Camara, the current CAF Young Footballer of the Year, scored the first brace of the match. He's been chosen as the group stage's finest young football player.

Having guided Senegal to three straight wins, Aliou Cisse is the group stage coach for the first time in the history of the nation.

Goalkeeper: Jesus Owono of Equatorial Guinea.

In defence, the Moroccan duo of Achraf Hakimi and Nayef Aguerd are joined by Kalidou Koulibaly and Arthur Masuaku of Senegal and DR Congo respectively.

The midfield is dominated by the Atlas Lions of Morocco; Azzedine Ounnahi, Sofyan Amrabat as well as Senegal's Lamine Camara and Gelson Dala of Angola.

Emilio Nsue Lopez of Equatorial Guinea who is currently topping the goal chart deservedly leads the attack.
