Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says playing at the Accra Sports Stadium is "quite difficult and always with tension" as compared to other home venues.

The Al Ain marksman will lead the Black Stars on Sunday when they host Mauritius in an opening 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Group H qualifier.

He is brimming with optimism that they can make a winning start to their qualifying campaign.

"I believe that fans, like everyone else, always want to see good football as well as the team winning. Somehow, such expectation and, perhaps, the reaction into our games compared to other venues," he told the Graphic Sports.

Ghana last played in the capital was back on 08 September 2012 since beating Malawi 2-0 in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
