Veterans Rabiu Ali and Ahmed Musa both missed the game due to CHAN commitments and illness respectively, but a young Kano Pillars side got the job done.

The Sai Masu Gida side defeated the Changi Boys 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Abba Adam off Naziru Auwalu’s cross in the 34th minute at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

After the match, Coach Usman Abdallah reserved special praise for the lads who showed that the future of the club is bright.

"I'm full of emotion. It is not about the victory. When you see today's game, you can see the future of Kano Pillars. You can see these are young boys that came in when they are needed and they produced. What makes me happy is that we presented a team that we know that in near future we have a very good future in this team because the young players came in and gave their best. It was very fantastic and I'm happy and they top it up with three points. So we are very happy."
