Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem has emphasized the team's determination to secure maximum points in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Nigeria faces Rwanda on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, followed by a match against South Africa in Bloemfontein three days later.

"We are going to give everything. We are here right now to perform and get six points," Awaziem stated, highlighting the team's winning mentality."

He added, "The only mindset we have is the winning mentality... We never back down, we go for it."

The Super Eagles currently sit fourth in Group C with seven points, nine points behind leaders South Africa.

A win in both matches is crucial for Nigeria's World Cup hopes, as anything less would significantly dent their chances.
