South Africa head coach Hugo Broos has singled out Ademola Lookman as the danger man in the Nigerian team ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Lookman, who has been in blistering form for Atalanta, scoring hat trick in the Europa League final, will be the player to watch according to Broos.

The winger also impressed at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring three goals and providing one assist in six games.

While acknowledging Lookman's threat, Broos emphasized that his team will focus on their own game plan. "Obviously, the danger man is Ademola Lookman, but we are not focusing on that," Broos said in a press conference in Uyo.

"We are focusing on our game, we have the ability and we have proven that at the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire."

Broos' strategy appears to be centered on his team's strengths, rather than specifically targeting the Atalanta winger.

The match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams seeking to gain an advantage in the qualifying campaign.
