A flying start to the WAFU B Women's Championship it was for Nigeria's Falconets as they put 7 goals past neighbors Niger Republic on Sunday evening, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.
Ajakaye scored an hat-trick as the Falconets mercilessly humiliate Niger in their opening game of the tournament.
She opened the scoring for Falconets in the 4th minutes and made it 2-0 nine minutes later.
She completed her hat-trick in the 53rd minutes, after Mercy Kalu had put us 3-0 up going into the break.
Adaobi Okah made it 5-0 from the spot for the team as Victoria Alani (64') and Chioma Olise (90+1') completed the rout for Falconets.
Nigeria, tipped as favorite for the trophy showed their class, dominating their opponent from the blast of the whistle till the end of the game.
The win put the young African Queens top of Group B with 3 points and plus seven goal difference as we await the outcome of the next game between Burkina Faso and Togo.
The Falconets will play Togo at 6pm on Wednesday, May 24 in the second match in Group B, while Niger Republic will tackle Burkina Faso at 3pm.
