USMNT, Serie A club eyeing former FC Dallas defender

According to CBS Sports, former FC Dallas right back Reggie Cannon might move to italian club Spezia in the upcoming transfer window.

Cannon, 22, moved from FC Dallas to Portugal's Boavista last summer, contributing with his strong play to his side avoiding relegation in the Primeira Liga. The american appeared in 30 games for Boavista this season, starting 88% of games and playing 82% of minutes in the Primeira Liga. 

A strong and physical defender, Cannon in his first year overseas improved his field vision and technique, and is now considered ready for a top european league experience. According to CBS Sports' sources, there's a 99% chance he leaves Boavista this summer. Spezia, controlled by American financier Robert Platek, avoided relegation from Serie A this season and is looking to improve his squad for their next campaign.

Born in Chicago and raised through the FC Dallas academy, Cannon debuted for USMNT in 2018, appearing in 14 international games for Team USA. He could be the second FC Dallas product to join a Serie A club, after AS Roma signed Bryan Reynolds last year.
