It was a disappointing evening for Cyril Dessers and Rangers having been held to a nervy 1-1 home draw as the Gers continue search for a first league win this season, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.
A dramatic stoppage-time equalizer from captain James Tavernier salvaged a point for ten-man Rangers in a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Dundee at Ibrox as both teams shared the spoils.
The match took a dramatic turn when Cyriel Dessers appeared to score what seemed to be the decisive goal, sparking celebrations among the Rangers players and fans.
However, the joy was short-lived, as a VAR review ruled out the strike, halting the momentum and leaving the result in question.
"It's a difficult result to accept personally as a team but I think we didn't play badly during the first half. I think we need to create more open chances", the Nigerian striker said in his post match assessment.
"We had it difficult for ourselves during the second half and after that, we showed good reaction, kept going until the end. The game needs to be started with the urgency of the last 30 minutes", he added.
With the controversy still fresh, Cyril Dessers and Rangers will now refocus quickly as they prepare for a crucial UEFA Champions League second-leg qualifier against Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday evening.
