Bassey endured a tough night as he conceded a first half penalty as his side lost by three goals to one at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei.

The first half had ended goalless with all to play for in the second leg, but it was the German side that had the fire power and momentum to take the day.

Calvin Bassey had given away a penalty which was converted in the 20 minutes of the encounter by Robin Knoche.

Former Celtic man, Josip Juranovic made it two just before the interval putting the Host in the driving seat.

Ghana's Mohammed Kudus halved the deficit inside the first two minutes of the second-half to give the visitors a kind of hope of getting back to the game.

However, Juranovic provided an assist as Danilho Doekhi made it 3-1 to restore the two-goal advantage three minutes later.
