Chinedu Udoji has told supersport.com that two-time African champions, Enyimba, will not slip up in their bid to win a record seventh Nigerian title on Sunday.

The former FC Abuja man is extremely confident that the Peoples Elephant are ready to make this chance count after two failed attempts in the past two seasons in which Kano Pillars pipped them to the title.

"We are not going to play for one point," began Udoji while talking to supersport.com on the eve of the big game. "No disrespect to Warri Wolves, they are a good team but we have shown that we want to win this season and our results at home and away are enough testimony to that."

He added: "We have a number of factors in our favour going into this match - we are playing at home, our fans will back us to win this and we are also in good form as well."

The centre-back has been pivotal in Enyimba's title charge this term with his defensive leadership and more importantly his winning goals against 3SC and Kwara United in smash-and-grab games.

Udoji also talks of how scoring the important goals while playing in the holding role in midfield - a position he has never played as a professional footballer.

"To be honest with you, it is difficult playing in that role (the defensive midfield position). Since Kamal (Sikiru) and Rasak (Aliyu) got injured the coach has tried different players and I have had to play in that position as well. I have learned a few things playing in that role and it also allows me to do 30 per cent attack and 70 per cent defending. For me, I am ready to play my bit to win the title for my club," said Udoji.
