As the group stages of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League ended for some clubs yesterday, a couple of Nigerian players were on parade for their clubs, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

Not the kind of news we want to see or hear as Super Eagles left-back, Zaidu Sanusi was taken off in FC Porto's 2-1 win over Diego Simeone's Atlético Madrid to finish top of group B with 12 points.

He was taken off in the 53rd minutes the record of a tackle and two clearances.

Meanwhile, in England, Victor Osimhen fired blank as Napoli succumbed to their first defeat of the season in all competition following a 2-0 loss to Liverpool.

Playing for 87 minutes, Osimhen was kept silent on the night but managed to create a scoring chance for his team.

Elsewhere, Calvin Bassey in solid in Ajax's defense as they defeated Rangers 3-1 to finish 3rd in group B, a position that qualifies them for the UEFA Europa League playoffs.

It was one of those good nights for the Super Eagles defender as he made 2 successful tackles and 7 clearances during the game.
