Super Falcons forward Uchenna Kanu wrote her name in Mexican football record books after becoming the 1st African woman to win the Liga BBVA MX title, reports Nigeriasoccernet.com.

The Nigerian international helped Tigres Femenil to their 5th trophy in 2022 after previously winning it in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Tigres clinched the Liga MX Femenil championship after beating América 3-0 on aggregate in the final. They had won 2-0 in the tie which was the second leg.
Kanu who came in for the first goal scorer Maga Ovalle in the 46th minute assisted Tigres' second of the day for Belen Cruz.
She joined the Mexican league in 2021 from top Swedish side Linköpings FC and scored 6 goals in 17 matches this season.
