Flying Eagles midfielder, Samson Lawal has called on his team mates to do everything on the pitch in their quarterfinal match against Uganda in making sure that they secure the Semifinal and world Cup tickets.
To qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup, the seven times African champions must defeat Uganda U20 national team in their quarter finals tie slated for Thursday, 2nd March 2023.
Samson Lawal scored a sublime with a 20-yard shot to help Nigeria beat Mozambique 2-0 in their last group A game.
Samson, while speaking with the team's media officer, Sharif Abdallah thanked God for the goal and urged his team mates to remain focused on picking the Semifinal and world Cup tickets.
"I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to score such a goal in an international competition like this. I want to also call on Nigerians to continue to support and pray for the team as we go into the quarter finals on Thursday.
"And also, I want to urge my team mates to remain focused and do everything on the pitch so as to beat Uganda and have the semi-final and World Cup ticket in the bag.
Nigeria will play Uganda in the fight for the Semifinal ticket on Thursday at 6:00pm. The match will come up after Senegal versus Benin Republic at 3pm.
Meanwhile, Gambia will face Sudan on Friday in another Semifinal tie.
